FLAT-PACKED
The product is a flat-packed chair that can be made into a volume using force. It is made from two stainless steel plates. It being flat-packed makes it more sustainable to ship it. But the production needs to be partly done by the customer. How can that part be made expressive and fun?
PARKOUR
Several ways to pull the sheets into a volume have been explored. One of them is parkour running. Alex Laman and Bent Van’t Hof their movements were measured with a Perception Neuron suit. The moves with the highest impact were used to further explore chair production.
Several movements are explored. One of them with swinging. With another test set-up, it is being explored if the chair can be made while jumping on it. Alex Laman is working on making the SPRING chair while jumping on the box.

INTERACTION-ISM
Interactionism is making movies with paintings by configuring the spaces they create in between. The direction a painted face is looking towards is determined by the angle between the viewer and portrait. With interactionistic paintings, the eye contact between paintings is taken into account. One painting can look at different portraits depending from what angle the viewer sees both paintings. Herewith the emotions of a painting can be interpreted based on the interaction it has (from that view point) with other paintings. Walking from view point to view point, the viewer creates the element of 'time' in relation to what it sees. By making people experiencing the element ‘time’ the spatial installation the paintings become movie scenes.
