INTERACTIONISM
Interactionism is making movies with paintings by configuring the spaces they create in between. The direction a painted face is looking towards is determined by the angle between the viewer and portrait. With interactionistic paintings, the eye contact between paintings is taken into account. One painting can look at different portraits depending from what angle the viewer sees both paintings. Herewith the emotions of a painting can be interpreted based on the interaction it has (from that view point) with other paintings. Walking from view point to view point, the viewer creates the element of 'time' in relation to what it sees. By making people experiencing the element ‘time’ the spatial installation the paintings become movie scenes.
